The water system air conditioning is a type of air conditioning that uses water as a medium to transfer heat or cold. It is widely used in large buildings and commercial environments. The outdoor unit is usually called a hot and cold water unit, while the indoor unit is generally called a fan coil unit. The indoor and outdoor units are connected by water pipes to achieve the circulation of hot and cold water, thereby achieving the purpose of regulating the indoor temperature.
Working principle
Hot and cold water unit (outdoor unit): This is the power source of the entire system. It is responsible for generating the required hot and cold water. The hot and cold water unit is equipped with key components such as compressors, evaporators, and condensers. When cooling is needed, the compressor compresses the refrigerant, turning it into a high-temperature and high-pressure gas; then it enters the condenser, where it undergoes heat exchange with the cooling water, releasing heat to the water and simultaneously being condensed into a low-temperature and high-pressure liquid; after being depressurized and cooled by the expansion valve, it enters the evaporator, absorbing the heat from the chilled water and evaporating into a gas, which then returns to the compressor to complete a cycle.
The function of the water pump: To ensure that hot and cold water can be effectively transported to each room and to recycle the used warm water back to the cold water and hot water unit for reprocessing, the system is equipped with specialized water pumps. These pumps can be divided into two types: the chilled water pump and the cooling water pump. The chilled water pump is used to push the low-temperature chilled water through the pipeline network to the fan coil units in each room; while the cooling water pump is used to send the hot water that has absorbed indoor heat to the cooling tower for heat dissipation and then return it to the condenser.
Fan coil unit (indoor unit): A terminal device installed in each room, mainly consisting of a fan motor and a heat exchanger. When cold water flows through the heat exchanger, it will absorb the heat from the surrounding air, making the blown air cooler; conversely, when hot water flows through, it will cause the air to heat up. In addition, the fan coil unit is equipped with an automatic control device, which can automatically adjust the water flow speed and fan speed according to the set temperature to maintain a comfortable indoor environment.
Control system: It can intelligently start or stop different areas of the fan coil units according to actual needs, or automatically adjust the water supply temperature based on external weather conditions.
The refrigerant system is an efficient air conditioning solution, especially suitable for home central air conditioning and multi-split systems in commercial buildings. In this system, the outdoor unit is connected to multiple indoor units through refrigerant pipes (usually copper pipes), and each indoor unit directly uses the refrigerant (refrigerant) to exchange heat with the air, achieving the purpose of temperature regulation.
